North Maluku Exports Frozen Fish to East Java, Reaches IDR 58 Billion in 2023

The Head of the Department of Marine and Fisheries (DKP), Abdullah Assagaf, announced that this year North Maluku has successfully exported frozen fish to East Java, generating a substantial revenue of IDR 58 billion. Abdullah stated in Ternate on Sunday (17/12/2023) that North Maluku, in its second-year trade mission with East Java in 2023, has exported frozen fish amounting to IDR 58 billion. He highlighted that North Maluku's export of fish, as part of the trade mission to East Java, started in the first year in 2021. In addition to exporting frozen fish, there is also a focus on fish processing, with processed fish now reaching Terminal 3 in Jakarta.

The frozen fish exports to East Java include varieties like skipjack, tuna, and grouper, and the export volume has been consistently increasing year by year. The collaborative efforts in fish exports to East Java are facilitated through the supervision of the North Maluku DKP, involving a third party. This initiative not only benefits the regional income but also maintains the recognition of North Maluku's marine produce within Indonesia. Abdullah emphasized that the ongoing collaboration in fish exports to East Java is a result of the efforts to boost the region's economy and sustain the marine yields of North Maluku in the national context. The revenue generated from these exports contributes significantly to the local economy, marking a positive outcome of the trade mission and reinforcing the region's position in Indonesia's maritime and fisheries sector.
