The Government of Indramayu Regency has allocated 14,000 hectares of land for industrial zones to encourage investment opportunities in the area as part of the Metropolitan Rebana region. This decision, based on Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2012 on the Spatial Planning Plan for Indramayu Regency 2011-2031, is currently undergoing a revision process, having completed discussions at the provincial level and is now in the Ministry of ATR/BPN's discussion phase. Asep Abdul Mukti, Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency in Indramayu Regency, emphasized that spatial planning is a pivotal element in development planning. The utilization and control of land are crucial to support Indramayu Regency's vision for enhanced development across various sectors. The designated 14,000-hectare industrial zone includes exploration areas for oil and gas in Juntinyuat, Kertasemaya, Sliyeg, Sukagumiwang, and Terisi sub-districts. Notably, Indramayu Regency is acknowledged as part of the Rebana area, making it an attractive investment destination.
According to Bank Indonesia's Cirebon representative, four major companies – PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) RU VI Balongan Indramayu, PT Polytama Propindo, PT Taekwang Indonesia, and PT Sido Agung Agro Prima – have invested significantly in Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan (Ciayumajakuning) regions. Among these, two companies are based in Indramayu. Reportedly, PT KPI RU VI Balongan has invested IDR 17.18 trillion (2022-2027), PT Polytama Propindo IDR 5.03 trillion (2022-2025), PT Taekwang Indonesia IDR 42.8 billion (2022-2025), and PT Sido Agung Agro Prima IDR 83 billion (2022-2023). The region's investment focus remains dominated by mining and processing industries, emphasizing the necessity for Ciayumajakuning's authorities to boost competitiveness through streamlined investment licensing, accelerated regional spatial plan revisions, technological support, and policies catering to business performance and employee purchasing power to foster a conducive investment climate.
