Pasuruan Regency continues its efforts to encourage Small and Medium Industries and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (IKM/UMKM) to focus on exports. Recently, the Pasuruan Regency Government, through the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), conducted a Business Gathering. This event took place at the Permanent Trade Exhibition Room of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade in Jakarta on Thursday, December 14th. Attended by representatives from various Foreign Embassies, the gathering was graced by Pasuruan Regent's Acting Head, Andriyanto, and the Director of Market Development and Export Information from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade along with their officials. Several embassies participated, including Venezuela, Timor Leste, Nigeria, France, South Africa, and Uzbekistan, among others such as Russia, Vietnam, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Cambodia's Embassy, and the Italian Trade Agency. Additionally, organizations like Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency were present.
According to Andriyanto, this Business Gathering serves as tangible proof of Pasuruan Regency's commitment to providing opportunities for entrepreneurs to promote and market their products globally. He emphasized that Pasuruan Regency's flagship commodities are export-worthy. Eight IKM/UMKM entities participated in showcasing the regional potential, consisting of four IKM craft and two IKM food representatives. Moreover, two companies, PT Harapan Abadi Tekstil Indonesia and PT Mozarat (organic cheese), were also included in the promotion by the regency. The event aims to bolster the promotion of Pasuruan's local products on an international platform and signifies the commitment of the local government in facilitating IKM/UMKM enterprises in expanding their market reach globally.
