Semarang City's Investment Realisation Achieves 90%

The One-Stop Integrated Service for Investment and Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) of Semarang City stated that the current investment realisation has reached 90% of the designated target of IDR 25.6 trillion. Diah Supartiningtias, the Head of DPMPTSP in Semarang, mentioned that investments in Semarang, aligned with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD), are anticipated to grow with the area's development. "According to the RPJMD, the amount of investment in Semarang this year has risen. Hopefully, in 2024, it will surpass that. As per the RPJMD, it's 27%. But we will strive to exceed that," she stated in a recent interview with Joglo Jateng. She further explained that the ease of licensing has contributed to the increased investments in Semarang. Additionally, Semarang's strategic position in the middle of Java Island is considered pivotal for these advancements.

"Post-COVID-19, investments in Semarang began to grow and continue to flourish," she clarified. She noted that they have recorded investors who have injected capital, ranging from those in hotels, malls, shopping centres, to industries. Moreover, Diah expressed that Semarang remains an attractive destination for many investors. Therefore, they will conduct verifications before the finalisation of investments. "We have met with several investors. We will relay the ongoing investment developments entering Semarang to the Mayor," she continued. Moving forward, in 2024, the focus will be on enhancing synergy and collaboration with related regional organisations to respond to the investment growth in Semarang. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on boosting investment in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
