Investment in West Nusa Tenggara Reaches IDR 25.9 Trillion

In 2023, the Investment Coordinating Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BKPM RI) targets investment realization in the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province to reach IDR 22.8 trillion, in line with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) goal of IDR 17.8 trillion. According to the Acting Head of the Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP) of NTB Province, Wahyu Hidayat, the actual investment realization in NTB Province until the third quarter of 2023 has reached IDR 25.9 trillion. For the third quarter of 2023 (July to September), the investment realization in NTB Province amounted to IDR 11.22 trillion. Of this, IDR 8.64 trillion came from Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN), and IDR 2.58 trillion from Foreign Direct Investment (PMA), as reported by Suara NTB on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. The highest investment realization in the third quarter of 2023 came from West Sumbawa Regency, contributing IDR 8.48 trillion, followed by Dompu Regency with IDR 655 billion and Central Lombok Regency with IDR 604 billion.

The Energy and Mineral Resources sector contributed the highest investment in the third quarter of 2023, amounting to IDR 6.92 trillion, followed by the industrial sector with IDR 1.82 trillion, and the creative economy sector with IDR 1.7 trillion. Regarding the origin of investments, the highest contributions came from combined investments from various countries, including Hong Kong, China, and Japan, totaling IDR 2.48 trillion. France contributed IDR 22.57 billion, and Spain contributed IDR 16.72 billion. This investment achievement significantly impacted job creation, absorbing 3,104 individuals in the third quarter of 2023. Among them, 3,083 were Indonesian workers, and 21 were foreign workers. The labor absorption was prominent in the employment sector with 1,040 individuals, trade with 1,004 individuals, and tourism and the creative economy with 579 individuals. The districts with the highest job absorption were West Sumbawa Regency with 1,415 individuals, followed by Mataram City with 582 individuals, and North Lombok Regency with 327 individuals. The authorities are confident that investment in NTB will continue to increase in the fourth quarter, along with further job creation.
