Bank Indonesia Jambi Holds Kenduri Budayo 2023 To Boost Economy

The Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Jambi Province held the "Kenduri Budayo" event in 2023 at the Muaro Jambi Temple on Sunday, November 5th. Hermanto, Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Jambi Province, explained that the Kenduri Budayo 2023 was a collective participation in the Proud Indonesian Tourism Movement (Gerakan Bangga Berwisata Indonesia or GBWI), specifically to promote and raise awareness of the rich culture and history of Jambi Province and encourage the "Berwisata di Jambi Aja" (Touring in Jambi Only) movement. He stated that the recovery and strengthening of the tourism sector after the COVID-19 pandemic was once again becoming a cornerstone of the national economy. However, the number of foreign tourists entering Indonesia has not returned to the pre-pandemic levels. Hermanto believes that tourism development can be achieved by following the principles of the 3A-2P, which are Accessibility, Attractions, Activities, Promotion, and People. Specifically for tourist destinations in the temple area, in terms of accessibility, the Muara Jambi Temple is relatively close to Jambi City, with good road infrastructure quality, making it easy for tourists to visit.

Activities at the temple tourism destination have the potential to be continuously developed and combined with various cultural activities to further increase public interest in visiting. Visitors can engage in various activities to explore the potential of tourist sites, from understanding history, enjoying traditional regional cuisine to other ongoing activities. Lastly, the presence of local people around the tourist destination is the most important. The community plays a crucial role in managing tourist areas and providing excellent service to ensure that visiting tourists have a positive experience, encouraging them to return in the future. Bank Indonesia continues to pay special attention to MSMEs that support tourism. This is done through the development of the local community's potential in the vicinity of the Muaro Jambi Temple through the PADUKA program (Pasar Dusun Karet), which preserves local wisdom and is strengthened by professional management. Hermanto also hopes that in the future, there will be better coordination with regional governments and the Supreme Audit Agency (Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan or BPK) in maximizing the potential of the Muaro Jambi Temple. It is hoped that collaboration with other parties to achieve these goals can be expanded.
