The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has recorded the highest investment realization at the national level in the third quarter of 2023. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reached USD 1.1 billion or equivalent to IDR 16.7 trillion, while Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) surpassed IDR 34.2 trillion. Cumulatively, the realization of FDI and DDI in DKI Jakarta in the third quarter of 2023 ranks first at the national level, totaling IDR 50.9 trillion or 13.6% of the national investment realization, said the Head of the Regional Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP) of DKI Jakarta Province. The investment realization in DKI Jakarta for the third quarter of 2023 increased by 79% compared to the third quarter of 2022, which recorded an investment realization of IDR 28.4 trillion. The high investment realization in Jakarta is due to the direction of the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta to ensure that all the ranks of the Jakarta Provincial Government continue to innovate to provide excellent public services to the public to drive investment towards Jakarta as a Global City.
From January to September 2023, the realization of DDI investments in Jakarta is also the highest compared to other regions in Indonesia, with an achievement of IDR 74.7 trillion. Meanwhile, the realization of FDI in Jakarta for the period from January to September 2023 reached USD 3.8 billion or the equivalent of IDR 55.6 trillion. "If we look at the period from January to September 2023, the total achievement of investment realization in Jakarta, consisting of FDI and DDI, is very positive, reaching IDR 130.3 trillion," said Benni. Benni mentioned that during the first nine months of 2023, there were at least three sectors that made the most significant contributions to the investment realization for the DKI Jakarta Province. These three sectors include Transportation, Warehousing, and Telecommunications with a value of IDR 46.6 trillion (36%); Other Services, IDR 23.7 trillion (18%), and Housing, Industrial Areas, and Offices, IDR 16.5 trillion (13%). Furthermore, to enhance the performance of investment in the DKI Jakarta Province, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, initiated the Jakarta Investment Award (JIA) 2023. This event serves as the first appreciation given by the Jakarta Provincial Government to business actors who have made a positive contribution to economic development and investment realization achievements.
