The Provincial Government of Bengkulu, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia, has launched the Regional Investor Relations Unit (RIRU) Regional Association for Accelerating Sustainable Investment Activity (Rafflesia) program as an effort to accelerate regional investments. "This is an investment application for Bengkulu, in the form of the Rafflesia website. Anyone who opens the Rafflesia website will learn about the investment potential in Bengkulu, making it easier to access information about investment," said Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah in Bengkulu on Tuesday. According to him, the RIRU Rafflesia program is embodied in the form of the rafflesiabengkulu.id website. The website contains information about the region's situation, regional macroeconomic data, investment projects, and investment procedure steps. "The Rafflesia website aims to make it easier for investors to discover the investment potential in Bengkulu and to promote the development of SMEs in Bengkulu," he said.
Darjana, the Head of Bank Indonesia's Bengkulu Provincial Representative Office, mentioned that there are several priority investment potentials currently being offered by the province known as the Land of Rafflesia. Among them is the construction of a railway line that will connect Bengkulu City to LubukLinggau in South Sumatra. He stated that the presence of this railway line will facilitate the distribution of coal commodities from parts of South Sumatra to Bengkulu Province for export and also serve as a means of passenger transportation. Other investment types being offered to investors include geothermal exploration projects, shrimp pond investments, given Bengkulu's location on the west coast of Sumatra, stretching over 525 kilometres. Furthermore, there are investment opportunities in fish feed factories, the development of tourist villages, and investments in geothermal power plants.
