The Gorontalo Provincial Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency, in collaboration with the Private Sector Investment Management Agency, has released the investment realisation data for the Q3 (July–September) of 2023, amounting to IDR 1,241,339,259,560. This figure marks a 301% increase compared to the same period in 2022, which achieved IDR 411,827,625,614. In comparison to the second quarter of 2023, the investment realisation reached a growth of 148.28% and has successfully generated employment for 735 Indonesian workers. During the Q3 of 2023, Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN) realised a total of IDR 1,129,797,700,000, representing a substantial increase of 684.21% compared to the same period in 2022 when it amounted to IDR 165,125,400,000.
Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) reached IDR 111,541,559,560, showing a growth of 45.21% compared to the same period in 2022, when it was at IDR 246,702,225,614. These investments resulted in the employment of 735 Indonesian workers, with 666 individuals engaged in PMDN projects and 69 in PMA projects. The investment realisation in Gorontalo Province during the third quarter of 2023 was distributed across different regions, with investments in Gorontalo Regency totaling IDR 470.8 billion, Pohuwato IDR 430.6 billion, North Gorontalo IDR 254.1 billion, Gorontalo City IDR 36.2 billion, Bone Bolango IDR 35.8 billion, and Boalemo IDR 13.8 billion. The five leading countries contributing to Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) in the third quarter of 2023 were Japan, with USD 4.9 million or 64.86%, Singapore with USD 2.1 million or 27.41%, the Netherlands with USD 246,000 or 3.27%, Malaysia with USD 220,000 or 2.92%, and Germany with USD 43,000 or 0.57%. The top five investments, both PMDN and PMA, in the third quarter of 2023 based on sector were transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications, amounting to IDR 380.6 billion or 30.66%, mining with IDR 288.7 billion or 23.26%, wood industry with IDR 232.4 billion or 18.72%, electricity, gas, and water with IDR 100.8 billion or 8.12%, and other services with IDR 57.9 billion or 4.67%. Cumulatively, the investment realisation for the period of January to September in 2023 reached IDR 3.39 trillion, achieving 130% of the set target.
