The Vice Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Coordinator for Maritime, Investment, and Foreign Affairs, stated that Indonesia's total trade with Latin America and the Caribbean has increased by 8.9% over the last five years. She mentioned that this 8.9% increase amounts to a substantial value of USD 13 billion or IDR 203 trillion. Over the last 5 years, the total trade between Indonesia and the Latin American and Caribbean regions has seen an increase of 8.9%. From that figure, it will reach a significant value of USD 13 billion, and of course, we all believe that this figure can go even higher. She also revealed that Indonesia's exports to the Latin American and Caribbean markets experienced growth in the previous year. She believes the potential is much greater, and she thinks Indonesia's exports to the Latin American and Caribbean markets have impressively increased by 16.4% in the previous year. According to her, Indonesia has been striving for stable yet progressive economic growth, enhancing trade, and attracting investors to strengthen the real-time economy. In a world filled with economic challenges and uncertainties, the importance of unity and collective effort cannot be overstated. Together, we can overcome the obstacles before us and seize the various opportunities that await us.
She also identified several sectors for strengthening relationships, starting with sustainable agricultural trade as Indonesia's expertise in agriculture, combined with the abundant resources in Latin America, can promote sustainable farming practices and ensure food security for both regions. Secondly, renewable energy, collaborative efforts in developing renewable energy projects can reduce carbon footprints and secure a cleaner and sustainable future. Finally, trade in the digital era, exploring opportunities in digital trade can open new markets and avenues for economic expansion.
