On September 27, 2023, in Randuboto Village, Gresik, UD Sinar Jaya exported processed stingray skin, processed guitarfish skin, and dried stingray and guitarfish skin to Hong Kong. It is worth noting that these commodities, with a total weight of 5,500 kilograms, had an export value of USD 27,500. This export is the result of collaboration between BKIPM Class II Surabaya, the local government of Gresik Regency, and Gresik Customs, who worked diligently to assist SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) in Gresik Regency in realizing their exports. UD Sinar Jaya is an SME in Gresik Regency engaged in the processing of fisheries products. The raw materials for stingrays and sharks are sourced from Rembang, Central Java, Brondong, Probolinggo, Kalimantan, and Bali. Currently, UD Sinar Jaya employs 21 workers and actively exports its products to Hong Kong and Thailand.
UD Sinar Jaya is one of the SMEs in Gresik Regency targeted by Gresik Customs in the Export Clinic, which is an export assistance program for SMEs. Through the export clinic, these SMEs are assisted in obtaining a Devisa Hasil Ekspor (DHE) account, which is a special account for exporters to handle transactions related to the export of natural resources as explained by Eko Rudi Hartono, Head of the Counseling and Information Services Section at Gresik Customs. He also hopes that through this export implementation, SMEs will become more self-reliant and continue to advance towards the global market, engaging in sustainable exports.
