The Indonesian Government has launched 80 strategic national projects in Rebana, West Java, with a total value of IDR 235 trillion. 40% of these projects have already been realized. These projects include significant infrastructure developments such as the Cisumdawu and Cipali toll roads, Patimban Port, Kertajati Airport, and various reservoirs intended to support irrigation and green industries across the expansive 43,000-hectare area of Rebana. Bernardus Djonoputro, Head of the Rebana Management Agency, stated that 20 companies have begun establishing their presence in the region. The focus in Rebana is on fostering green and net-zero industries, prioritizing sustainability. This approach aims to attract global investors, positioning Rebana as an attractive magnet for international businesses seeking competitiveness and the best industrial opportunities. Key sectors of interest for Rebana include green industries like battery production, electric vehicles, data centers, modern logistics, as well as advanced garment and textile manufacturing, combining labor-intensive work with cutting-edge technology.
Rebana also envisions an educational and training hub to cater to the workforce needs of modern industries. The Rebana Management Agency has partnered with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to create a masterplan for an environmentally-friendly Aerocity in Rebana, aligning with the green industrial focus. This approach, similar to industrial cities in Japan, seeks to ensure Rebana's sustainable growth as a sizeable, beautiful, and pollution-free hub, enhancing its appeal to global investors. The plan resonates well with business leaders, like Ning Wahyu Astutik from the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (Apindo) Jabar, who hopes that the provincial government will maintain a conducive business environment and equip the local industry with the skills necessary to thrive in Rebana's competitive landscape. Efforts to prepare the workforce include the establishment of a Manufacturing Polytechnic Campus, backed by various governmental entities, aimed at nurturing manufacturing-oriented talent in alignment with Rebana's industrial aspirations. The West Java Investment Summit (WJIS) 2023 has significantly contributed to promoting the Rebana Industrial Zone (KPI) and the development of initiatives like the Manufacturing Polytechnic Campus
