15 MSME Products From Kudus Projected For Export In 2023

Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) play a pivotal role in driving grassroots economic growth in each region. The role of MSMEs is to stimulate the local economic cycle through innovative and creative products. These range from various handicrafts, processed foods, region-specific delicacies, to diverse high-value products. In Kudus Regency, among the tens of thousands of registered MSMEs at present, approximately 15 of them are projected to export their products overseas this year. These are businesses that have successfully engaged in substantial production and possess products with considerable market value and suitability for international markets. These include products such as Muslim fashion and hijabs, spice-based products, kerupuk kemplang (a type of cracker), eco prints, embroidery, banana-based products, bakery and pastry items, accessories, batik, keciput (a local dish), and several other types of products.
 
The number of MSMEs in Kudus Regency has experienced a significant increase from 17,182 businesses to 27,200 by the end of 2022. This year, the number of MSMEs in Kota Kretek is predicted to increase in parallel with the improvement in the local economy. The Department of Manpower, Industry, Cooperatives and SMEs of Kudus has already collected data on MSMEs prepared to export their products throughout 2023. At least 15 MSMEs are being supported by the local government through relevant departments to prepare themselves for global market entry. Among these 15 MSMEs, some are engaged in producing Muslim fashion and hijabs in Sunggingan, Kota Kudus. Additionally, there is a production of "keciput jadul" (a local dish), eco prints, embroidery, accessories, and batik. There are also processed food and beverage productions ready to enter the global market. Such as processed "kuping gajah" (a type of snack), spice-based product, "rempeyek" and "kripik" (snacks) unique to Kudus, kerupuk kemplang, processed banana products, bakery and pastry items, and banana chips production.
