Gorontalo has once again engaged in export activities to China. This time, Gorontalo exported 3,300 tons of coconut cake. Information shared by the Gorontalo Agricultural Quarantine Agency indicates that the value of the coconut cake amounts to IDR 9.9 billion. Coconut cake, as quoted from the official UNG website, is a byproduct of coconut oil extraction. It is typically utilized as animal feed. The standard quality of coconut cake includes nutritional content and aflatoxin tolerance limits. Coconut plants are recognized as one of the flagship commodities of Gorontalo Province. Coconuts from Gorontalo have been successfully exported not only in the form of coconut cake but also as grated coconut and raw coconut oil. According to the procedure, these thousands of tons of coconut cake are first inspected by the Gorontalo Agricultural Quarantine Agency.
 
The Sample Collection Officer takes samples and brings them to the Gorontalo Agricultural Quarantine Laboratory for further examination. The agency ensures that the carrier media is free from Plant Quarantine Pests. Meanwhile, the Sub-Coordinator of Plant Quarantine Substance, conveyed that inspections of export commodities have been carried out frequently and they continue to support agricultural business operators and consistently promote the potential of the region within the Gorontalo Province to penetrate international markets. These efforts signify the Gorontalo Agricultural Quarantine Agency's support for enhancing regional income through exports, particularly in the field of agricultural commodities. This is accompanied by an improvement in the quality of agricultural commodity products, thereby garnering more interest from foreign business operators in products from the agricultural sector of the Gorontalo Province.
