Department of Marine and Fisheries of Jayapura Facilitates Inaugural Export of Fisheries Commodities From Jayapura To Singapore

The Regional Government (Pemda) of Jayapura Regency, through the Department of Marine and Fisheries (DKP), has overseen the maiden export of fisheries commodities from Jayapura, Papua, to Singapore. The inaugural export release of fisheries commodities, which included oysters and bubble clams, was carried out by CV Putra Tambu Papua, in partnership with DKP Jayapura Regency, to PT Salmon Oh Enterprise (Malaysia), en route to Singapore. This is a follow-up to collaboration with foreign investors, particularly PT Salmon Oh Enterprise Malaysia. On May 31, the government engaged in a business meeting with 20 selected partners in the fish export sector. The proof of fish export is very important. Since if it is not proven, investors will not return.

The result of these business stakeholders meetings and activities is what we all can see now. Although the quantity in this export is currently in the tens of kilograms, the value is based on the finest quality of fish. The need for continuous activities to support fish exports was also mentioned. This inaugural fish export is a shared joy, bringing prosperity to the fishermen, entrepreneurs, and undoubtedly contributing to the region's revenue through local income (PAD). For information, the inaugural export of fisheries commodities, including oysters and bubble clams, was valued at hundreds of million rupiah for several tons of these fisheries commodities.
