The Ambon Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Center Facilitate The Export of 1.7 Tons of Mud Crabs to Singapore

The Ambon Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Center (BKIPM) held an export release of 1.7 tons of mangrove crabs owned by CV. Samudera Keris Jaya on Wednesday (9/8/2023). Crabs that owned by CV. Samudera Keris Jaya will be exported to Singapore. Crabs that are ready for export have also passed the standards specified in Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Number 16 of 2022, especially in article 8 paragraph (1) concerning the catching, traffic and/or expenditure of crabs. As many as 1.7 tons of  mangrove crabs, some of which had passed the stages of physical examination and feasibility.

The reason is, If there are crabs that have not been included for the standard according to the provisions of the law, they will be released and will be a resource for the community of the release site. For information, the activity was held to coincide with Public Service Week of BKIPM Ambon City which was also held throughout Indonesia. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, there are two options for mangrove crab exports, namely a minimum carapace length of 12 centimeters or weighing up to 150 grams. currently , based on data from BKIPM Ambon, the export value of Maluku commodities in the first semester of 2023 reaches USD 34.5 million, based on percentage it will increase around 79.56% year on year compared to 2022.
