The Directorate General of Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership (Ditjen PSKL) announced that latex produced from social forestry rubber has successfully been transformed into latex gloves ready for export worldwide. This was conveyed by the Director General of PSKL, Bambang Supriyanto, during his visit to the latex glove manufacturer, PT Haloni Jane Tbk (HALO), on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. The visit aimed to enhance the quality and sustainability of the collaboration between Ditjen PSKL and the off-takers of social forestry produce.
Haloni Jane is one of the off-takers, along with Taniyuk, both of which are part of the Shamrock Group. The company produces latex gloves using latex sourced from PSKL-assisted farmers in South Sumatra. The visit emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and off-takers while prioritizing the goal of improving farmers' welfare.
This collaboration also ensures transparency and social responsibility throughout the glove supply chain. By promoting the digitalization of farmers, the Indonesian glove industry is expected to continue its sustainable growth. Taniyuk plays a crucial role in connecting small rubber farmers directly with the off-takers, ensuring transparency and sustainability in the supply chain. The digitalization of farmers has facilitated traceability, allowing accurate tracking of the rubber's origin.
