Minister of Trade stated that the government is preparing the pathway for the export of Jambi's flagship products. Jambi is a province rich in natural resources, including plantations, mining, and agriculture, with 60% of its area dedicated to plantations. Jambi boasts a variety of prominent commodities such as the world's best cinnamon, pepper, coffee, cloves, palm oil, and aro wood tea. To capitalize on this great potential, collaboration between the central and local governments is necessary to export Jambi's flagship commodities. The Minister mentioned that the central government has facilitated trade agreements with countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and countries in the Middle East, providing the opportunity for Jambi to export without tariff charges.Furthermore, The Minister also announced that in October 2023, the Ministry of Trade will organize the annual Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), which will attract 180 buyers from around the world. The TEI trade exhibition can also be utilized to boost the export of Jambi's flagship products. The Minister expressed his appreciation to the Governor for Jambi's economic growth, which exceeds 5% and has an inflation rate below the national average at 1.9%. He emphasized that this positive economic performance is exceptional compared to other provinces, where the national average inflation rate for this month is low at 3.5%. Overall, it stands at 4%.
