The Batu City Government declares that the organization of sports tourism events is capable of elevating the tourism potential of Batu City, East Java. With an increasing number of national and international sports championships being held in Batu City, the tourism sector is becoming more vibrant. The local government hope that more national and international championships will be held here, which will strengthen and enhance the tourism potential and have an impact on the economic improvement of the community. The numerous national and international sports championships held in Batu City also contribute to the growth of the local economy, especially in the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) sector. With such potential, the Batu City Government expresses its openness to various sports tourism events.
The local government also stated the need to held sports tourism regularly, especially in sports that are suitable for the geographical conditions of Batu City. It is hope that in the future, Batu City will have sports facilities and infrastructure at an international standard, as it will ultimately attract the attention of various sports disciplines to organize championships in the region. Beside that, with the presence of many athletes and participants, it will support the tourism sector and have a positive impact on the economic development of the community. In the region of Batu City, there are several sports events that are held regularly and attract tourists. These include paragliding, motocross, downhill biking, KWB adventure trail, and fun bike activities. The Paolo Run Fest 2023 was held, attracting 933 participants as well as the Push Bike Fun Race 2023, which had 283 participants from all over Indonesia. These two sports activities are considered to enhance the tourism potential of Batu City.
