Negeriku, a non-profit organization founded by the Indonesian diaspora in the Netherlands, is promoting the excellence of tourist villages and SME products from Indonesia to the European community through an exhibition titled "Discovering the Magnificence of Indonesia Expo." The exhibition, with the theme "Promoting Green Tourism Villages and Small to Medium Enterprises in Europe", targeting an attendance of 20,000 visitors. CEO of Negeriku stated that the organization aims to assist the government in promoting Indonesian tourism specifically and exclusively in Europe. It has to be specific and exclusive because the decision of European tourists to fly from Europe to Indonesia for more than 14 hours is a significant decision that requires careful planning and comprehensive information. Therefore, a specialized and exclusive exhibition greatly helps tourists make informed decisions that they will not regret. The promotion of tourist villages and SME products in line with the current direction of national tourism development.
The Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) expressed full support for the implementation of the tourist village exhibition in the Netherlands. The tourist villages are referred as "pandemic winners" as they are among the sectors that have gained popularity amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the exhibition, 20 tourist villages are planned to showcase their potential to prospective Dutch and European tourists. The curation process is currently being carried out by Kemenparekraf and Negeriku. In addition to the exhibition, there are plans for business matching and a business forum to explore cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
