Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said the 2023 Asean Tourism Forum (ATF) had an extraordinary economic impact on the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) of around Rp. 5 trillion. For temporary data, the results of holding the event for B2C reached more than Rp. 8 billion, while for B2B it was Rp. 35 million. "This ATF has had an extraordinary impact. We express our sincere appreciation to all parties who have made it successful," Sandiaga said at The Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno, Jakarta, Monday (13/2). Please note, the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2022 will be held in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
This year, Indonesia has the opportunity to host the 2023 ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF). This is the fifth time that Indonesia has hosted the ASEAN Tourism Forum. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, ATF events have been held in several cities in Indonesia, namely Bandung, West Java in 1991, Surabaya, East Java in 1996, Yogyakarta, D.I Yogyakarta 2002, and Manado, North Sulawesi in 2012. The holding of ATF 2023 in Yogyakarta is expected to be a moment for the rise of the tourism sector and the creative economy in Indonesia, as well as encouraging and opening up the widest possible employment opportunities. Thus, it can become an accelerator of economic and social growth. Both in the national scope, as well as the ASEAN regional scope as a whole.
