The Southwest Aceh Regency Government (Abdya) and the West Aceh Regency Government have agreed to work together to advance the agriculture and fisheries sector as an effort to prevent inflation in the two areas. "This MoU that has been signed is the beginning of cooperation between the Abdya Regency Government and West Aceh Regency," said Acting Regent Abdya Darmansah in Blangpidie, Monday. He explained that the MOU was related to trade cooperation in agricultural and fishery commodities, in order to prevent regional inflation. According to him, the establishment of this cooperation will further add to the support system of both parties in an effort to advance their respective work areas, especially in the agricultural and fisheries sectors. "We hope that with the birth of this MoU, it will be a starting point for us going forward in improving and focusing more on these two sectors so that they are more systematic, quality and superior," Darmansah said. He invited the West Aceh Regency Government to unite steps, synergize with each other, and work hand in hand in realizing the common goal of advancing the two mainstay sectors. "As we can see, the agriculture and fisheries sectors in these two regions are very abundant. Our marine and agricultural products have the potential to make Abdya and West Aceh become more independent and advanced," he said. Darmansah also hopes that all levels of the Abdya Regency Government, especially related agencies, will cooperate in earnest so that the aspirations of advancing these two sectors are realized. "This big task can only be realized if we are all willing and able to carry it out in accordance with the agreement we have built since today," he said.
Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of West Aceh Mahdi Efendi said, the cooperation carried out by the two districts was believed to be able to be a concrete and strategic step in the context of supporting people's welfare as well as being an effort to control inflation in their respective regions. "The active role of the regional inflation control team (TPID) is an important component in preparing anticipatory measures to control inflation," said Mahdi Effendi. He added that efforts to control inflation require accurate indicators so that they can map commodities that are the target of control, such as rice, fish, eggs, purebred chicken meat, and various other basic needs. In addition, direct monitoring of price fluctuations of several basic commodity commodities must continue to be carried out regularly so that they are in line with the President's directives in the National Coordination Meeting with regional heads and Forkopimda last January 17, 2023. "We hope this will be a real effort to control regional inflation by maintaining and increasing supply availability, smooth distribution of production, and encouraging the creation of a competitive market structure to reduce pressure on price differences between districts," he said.
