Within a year, more than 10,000 MSMEs in Solo are Exported Via e-commerce

The online shop business trend is increasingly positive with the contribution of exports. One of them is the export of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through e-commerce. It was recorded that more than 10,000 Solo MSMEs succeeded in exporting in just one year after participating in the Solo Export Shopee UMKM Campus training. Furthermore, 180,000 Indonesian MSMEs have succeeded in reaching international markets including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil and Mexico. In 2022, Shopee expanded its export destinations to Latin America, namely Brazil, Mexico and East Asia. This figure does not include data that was fully collected last year. Reporting from Shopee's press release titled Flashback 2022: How Shopee Creates Resilience for More Indonesian People, the marketplace company claims collaboration and contributions from various industries are important factors in building the national economy. The collaboration can be seen from the performance of the Indonesian economy in Q3 2022 which reached 5.72% (year on year). Shopee helps MSME business owners to be able to open markets overseas through Shopee Exports. At the end of 2022, Shopee has succeeded in exporting 20,400,000 Indonesian MSME products, while BPS data says that in 2021 0.88% of e-commerce businesses in Indonesia will export. One of the MSMEs using the Shopee Export service is the Klaten Health Mask business owned by Arsy Yulifa Hapsari. The business, which was founded in 2018, started using Shopee Exports in late 2020. The challenge of using Shopee Export for Arsy is a fierce competitor with competitive prices. The last export was carried out by Arsy almost a year ago.
