Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Launches Kharisma Event Nusantara, Sandiaga: Revive People's Economic Vibration

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno launched the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) at the Keong Mas Theatre, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). "We are launching KEN, which are leading events and attracting tourism and the creative economy. These are 110 leading events from all regions of the archipelago, from Sabang to Merauke Miangas to Rote Island," said Sandiaga. Sandiaga said, through the Kharisma Event Nusantara it is predicted to increase tourist attraction and even create jobs of 4.4 million in 2024. "Adding to the repertoire of tourist attractions because the target of foreign tourists is increased to 7.4 million, 1.4 billion domestic tourists," he said.


Apart from that, Sandiaga said, his party is adding tourism and creative economy events, namely Sport, Music and Creative Events. "So there needs to be an event that is of a higher quality, and today the enthusiasm from the regions welcomes the launch of this KEN and we are doing it extraordinarily," he said. "We hope that later we can move the regional economy, increase the activity of MSMEs, revive the people's economy and create jobs," he continued. To note, the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) event summarizes 110 leading events that have been curated from 291 events proposed by Provincial Tourism Offices throughout Indonesia. KEN is also a strategic program of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in promoting tourism destinations through events aimed at increasing foreign tourist visits and encouraging domestic tourists to travel to Indonesia.
