The Government Wants to Boost the Logistics Sector to Increase Investment

The Indonesian government is trying to improve the performance of national logistics to improve the investment climate and increase the competitiveness of the national economy. One of them is through the formation of the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE).
This is the implementation of Presidential Instruction Number 5 of 2020 concerning Structuring the National Logistics Ecosystem. The National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) is a policy to improve the efficiency of national logistics by ensuring the smooth movement of the flow of export and import goods as well as the movement of domestic goods, both between regions within one island, as well as between islands.
At the Coordination Meeting for the Acceleration of NLE Implementation and Development in Jakarta, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that the presence of NLE was expected to increase national logistics efficiency by integrating government services with logistics platforms that were already operating.

On this occasion, Airlangga also appreciated the leaders of ministries/agencies for the collaboration and breakthroughs made to fulfill the target of completing the NLE action plan, so that simplification of government service business processes has been built and developed and collaboration between private logistics service systems, both domestic and international. international.
"Synergy and collaboration are key, because maintaining economic resilience and ensuring the achievement of economic growth targets requires the cooperation and hard work of all stakeholders. Thus, collaboration is the key to successful NLE implementation," Airlangga said in a written statement, Tuesday (24/1/ 2023).

Airlangga explained that the NLE reaction up to December 2022 had reached 90.5% of the total 42 reactions. These NLE services have been implemented at 14 seaports, namely the Ports of Tanjung Priok, Tanjung Emas, Tanjung Perak, Belawan, Makassar, Batam, Balikpapan, Merak, Samarinda, Kendari, Dumai, Palembang, Pontianak and Lampung.
Airlangga emphasized that the success of NLE implementation is largely determined by the integration and simplification of government service systems and collaboration between G2G, G2B and B2B services. In addition to efforts to increase the participation of logistics service providers who have been integrated into the NLE, Airlangga also encourages acceleration of the completion of container terminal zoning arrangements, synchronization of rail and container lines at ports and solving cross-ministerial/agency issues related to the implementation and development of NLE.
The Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati as the operational person in charge of implementing the National Logistics Ecosystem Arrangement and concurrently the Head of the National Logistics Ecosystem Arrangement National Team, stated that the role of NLE has contributed to supporting the national logistics process.

He stated that the breakthroughs in the SSm Transporter, SSm Licensing, and SSm QC services were able to cut the business process stages, reduce repetition and duplication of processes with one submission, and simplify the management of government logistics services.
Various NLE services have been proven to have a positive impact on efficiency or reduction of costs and time. One of the NLE services, namely Single Submission Customs Quarantine (SSm QC) in the joint-inspection process between Customs and Quarantine, is able to streamline up to 22.37% of the entire process and save costs of 33.48% or up to Rp. 191.32 billion.
