These Are the Four Sectors Driving Aceh's Economy in 2023

Bank Indonesia (BI) Aceh Province stated that there are four business sectors that will drive economic growth in Indonesia's westernmost province in 2023, namely agriculture, tourism, mining and the processing industry.
"These four business sectors will boost Aceh's economy in 2023, so that the economy will grow in a higher quality," said Head of Bank Indonesia Aceh Province Achris Sarwani in Banda Aceh, Tuesday.
He explained that the agricultural and tourism sectors are priority sectors that need to be the concern of local governments to mitigate the risk of holding back performance in these business fields.
Furthermore, according to him, the mining business sector and the processing industry business are potential sectors that must continue to be increased more intensively.
Achris added that the agricultural sector has the largest market share in Aceh's economic structure, reaching 30.38 percent.

The agricultural business sector, he continued, needs flood control intervention through the construction of irrigation/flood canals following the decline in rice production due to crop failure due to flooding that hit a number of districts/cities in Aceh and the availability of fertilizer subsidies, which must continue.
Then, the tourism sector has the second largest market share of Aceh’s economic structure, 21.77 percent. This sector is supported by the number of domestic and international air transport which has started to increase in November 2022 and the influx of foreign tourists has started since October 2022.
He also hopes that the local government can revitalize tourism centers in Aceh in order to increase visits and comfort for both domestic and foreign tourists.
