Realization of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) rubber exports for December 2022 shipments rose 30.9% to 26,847 tons compared to November 2022. Despite the increase, this realization is still far from the normal average monthly exports of around 38,000 to 40,000 tons. Meanwhile, total exports for the January-December 2022 period decreased sharply by 8.26% to 350,147 compared to the January-December 2021 period. "The increase in exports was influenced by improved shipments due to delay shipments and improved demand from major consumer countries," said the Executive Secretary of the Joint Companies. Indonesian Rubber (Gapkindo) North Sumatra, Edy Irwansyah, Tuesday (17/1/2023). In December, there were 28 rubber export destination countries. The five main export destination countries for North Sumatra's rubber are Japan (32.4%), the United States (11.4%), Brazil (9.2%), Turkey (8.3%), and Belgium (4.8%). Edy said exports for January 2023 shipments were expected to improve as prices and demand gradually improved. The price of TSR20 on the Singapore futures exchange (SGX) on January 13 was 136.8 US cents per kg. Meanwhile, the condition of the supply of raw materials in North Sumatra will be disrupted as a result of reduced production caused when the rubber plantations have entered the leaf fall phase.
