The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said spontaneous tourism is a tourist trend that will increase by 14% in 2022. "More than 2.4 million bookings were recorded the day before the trip he just ordered, or even on the day of the trip he just ordered." said Sandi in 'The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno' which was monitored online in Jakarta, Monday (17/1/2023). He also said, in the first place the sudden tourist destinations for Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 are still controlled by Bali, then other destinations are Bandung, Jogja, Jakarta, Semarang are also the leading destinations. The trend of spontaneous tourism, he said, is believed to accelerate the tourist achievement of 1.4 billion movements of domestic tourists with a tourism GDP contribution value of above 4% in 2023. Furthermore, Sandiaga revealed, this spontaneous tourism is increasing triggered by the easing of PPKM rules, so that tourists can easily free to mobilize, especially in tourism. Meanwhile, as an effort to encourage the progress of tourism and the creative economy, his party is pushing sales promotion activities for education trips, travel fairs to integrated family trips by becoming a tourist village as a spontaneous tourist destination.
He also hopes that tourists can make tourist village destinations spread across various parts of Indonesia as spontaneous tourist destinations. The trend of spontaneous tourist travel quantitatively contributes quite a lot in encouraging the movement of domestic tourists. Therefore, Sandiaga appealed to the availability of transportation seats such as airplanes and trains to be increased. For this reason, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation and various parties related to increasing the availability of seats both from outside and within the country, as well as increasing the capacity of land transportation (trains, buses) and sea.
