The Ministry of Investment or the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) stated that Central Java and North Kalimantan have the potential to become the biggest targeted areas for Foreign Investment (PMA). Deputy Investment Climate Development at the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, Yuliot said, Central Java has the potential to bring in many investors because of the Batang Integrated Industrial Area (KITB). Meanwhile, an industrial area in North Kalimantan, which is currently under construction, will also attract investors in the future. "(Areas that have the potential to be of great interest to investors) may be able to enter Central Java because there is KITB, and North Kalimantan with several industrial areas," Yuliot told Kontan.co.id, Jakarta. It should be noted, from January to September, there were five of the largest areas that investors were most interested in. Among them, the first position is in Central Sulawesi, followed by West Java, North Maluku, DKI Jakarta, and also Riau. Yuliot said the 5 regions will still be a mainstay for investors to invest their capital this year, because a very adequate investment ecosystem has already been built. To note, the potential of KITB in Central Java which will become a large area that investors are interested in is evident that there are already 220 potential investors who have expressed their interest in leasing land in the area.
President Director of PT KIT Batang Ngurah Wirawan previously said, of the 220 potential investors, there were 11 tenants who had already signed the agreement. "Then, as many as 17 potential companies have submitted investment offers with a total land area of 991 hectares," said Wirawan, Saturday (10/13). The existence of this potential is due to investor confidence in the socio-political-economic conditions in Indonesia and the realization of investment in industrial estate land is still high, where investors prefer convenience in making investments.
