Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa encourages the expansion of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) market to boost post-pandemic Covid-19 economic recovery. "So far, efforts have been made to expand the East Java MSME market, even reaching the overseas segment. However, there are still many opportunities and potential that can be maximized," Khofifah said while receiving an audience with PT Grab Indonesia at the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya, Tuesday (10/1 / 2023) as quoted from Antara. Khofifah said, Grab Indonesia is one of the business sectors that has a big role in bridging MSMEs to access a wider market. In fact, according to him, the "insight" data owned by Grab Indonesia can be used as a basis for the development of the MSME sector in East Java. "It must be endeavored, how to jointly look for a process that can provide broad market access for MSMEs, both digitally and financially," said Khofifah. Khofifah said that post-Covid-19 economic recovery requires synergy with all parties. Each element can take a role according to their respective expertise and field. "Our export opportunities are big. But we need strengthening so that they don't just sell but can also market and develop overseas," he said. The East Java Provincial Government, among others, has collaborated with Bank Indonesia by establishing a Curation House for MSME players. The goal is to achieve standardization of product quality so that it can be exported. "This is important because we can educate and invite the public to be smarter in trading. We convey to MSME players that exports are easy, not complicated, so that their mindset is progressive and adds enthusiasm," said Khofifah.
