The Tourism Office (Dispar) of West Seram Regency (SBB) of Maluku Province conducted an inventory of leading tourist objects in the district entitled Saka Mese Nusa. "We are conducting an inventory of tourist objects, namely natural, maritime, cultural and historical tourism with various categories such as mountains, waterfalls, beaches and man-made tourism," said Head of the SBB Regency Tourism Office, Yani Soukotta, in Ambon, Wednesday. He said that the superior tourism potential in SBB Regency varied quite a lot depending on the interests of tourists, because a tourist does not always want to visit all tourist objects. "Tourist visits to SBB have started to increase to a number of tourist destinations that are the target of visits, one of which is Osi Island, Air Putri Waiyoho and Kairatu beach," he said.
Characteristically, Osi Island is within the management authority of a conservation area, therefore development efforts from the local government have not been touched, due to limited authority. Meanwhile, the Putri Waiyoho water tourism object in Esa Kawa is also in demand by tourists. It is currently in the development stage and not yet fully operational because it is under construction. he said. Other tourist destinations are tours made by D'nuku in the village of Waimital owned by individuals, which have also started to be visited by tourists, in addition to several diving tourist destinations on Kassa Island, Marsegu, Seven Island in Waisala and Kaibobu villages. "We have also anticipated the needs of tourists who are fans of diving and snorkeling, by procuring diving equipment and also building a dive center," he said. Yani added, all efforts were made to increase tourist visits to SBB Regency. "We are indeed limited in facilities, but it is hoped that in 2023 development will be carried out to complete tourist objects, adjusted to the financial conditions of the district government," he said.
