The government targets the development of 149 ports to become green and smart ports to be completed by 2024. Currently, there are 14 ports that have been certified as green ports and smart ports. The 149 ports consist of 112 ports under Pelindo and 37 ports under a number of agencies, including the private sector and the Ministry of Transportation. "We have to build all of these, I hope all of them can be completed within the next two years. Next year I hope we can complete 149 so that they are digital. This year 14 ports," said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at the Green event The 2022 Port Awards are titled "Indonesia Towards a World-Class Sustainable Port" as quoted from Antara, Wednesday (28/12). The implementation of the national logistics ecosystem harmonizes the flow of goods with international documents (flow of documents). This logistics system carries out data exchange, process simplification, and elimination of repetition and duplication.
On the other hand, the ecosystem is also considered to be able to reduce opportunities for corruption. "I really appreciate the construction of 14 digitally integrated ports so as to minimize the practice of corruption at ports because they are blocked by the system we built. And next year, I repeat, we have to build and complete 149 more (ports) and we have to work hard for it," Luhut added. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report shows that there are 578 fishing ports in Indonesia in 2020. The majority or 114 fishing ports (19.72%) are in Aceh.
