The Foreign Exchange Village Program of the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank in Subang Regency, West Java exported the superior Robusta coffee commodity with a volume of 19.2 tons to Egypt. Prior to that, Foreign Exchange Village in Subang also had another superior commodity, namely Arabica coffee which had successfully exported 18 tons to Saudi Arabia in 2021. Meanwhile, the coffee commodity is cultivated by 208 farmers under the auspices of the Gunung Luhur Berkah Producers Cooperative spread over six villages, namely Cisalak, Nagrak, Cupunagara, Darmaga, Sukakerti, and Pasanggrahan. The Head of the LPEI Consulting Services Division, Gerald Grisanto said that since the assistance and training by LPEI for coffee farmers in Subang, the village's total income has increased by 60 percent from before. "LPEI as the Special Mission Vehicle of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia continues to open wide the export potential of regional superior commodities through the Foreign Exchange Village program. Through this program, we are committed to creating a sustainable export ecosystem so as to create crop yield certainty for farmers," said Gerald quoted in Jakarta, Saturday ( 31/12). He continued, the Foreign Exchange Village program had been adapted to the needs of coffee farmers in Subang and their cooperatives in managing production land and running their business.
"The Assistance of Subang Kopi Foreign Exchange Village is focused on three aspects, namely market access, production capacity, and financial records," said Gerald. He hopes that the training provided will broaden access to export markets, improve the ability to cultivate and process coffee plants, and improve the procedures for preparing financial reports. Going forward, LPEI will provide opportunities for regions with superior export-oriented products to develop their potential economically, socially and environmentally for the welfare of the surrounding community. "As a form of support to encourage national exports, LPEI always makes optimal efforts to provide ongoing assistance through the Foreign Exchange Village program in areas with potential export commodities. We hope that the Coffee Foreign Exchange Village in Subang can carry out further exports soon," said Gerald.
