Bali and Berau Agreed on Tourism Cooperation

Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) who is also Head of the Bali Province Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to tourism marketing, development of tourism destinations, tourism institutions, and the creative economy with Berau Regency, Kalimantan East, located at the Office of the Governor of Bali, Niti Mandala, Denpasar, Tuesday (20/12). Head of the Berau Regency Culture and Tourism Office, Ilyas Natsir, said the aim of proposing a five-year MoU with BPPD Bali was to learn and gain knowledge from Bali to develop Berau's tourism.

"Berau has very good natural potential, but the management of tourism promotion has not been maximized," said Ilyas. For this reason, his party wants to establish cooperation with Bali which already has a name in the eyes of the world. So that later, Berau can develop tourism to the fullest. It is also hoped that this collaboration can provide tourism exchange between Bali and Berau so that cooperation can be established in harmony. Responding to this, Deputy Governor Cok Ace welcomed the goals of Berau Regency. However, Bali and Berau are still part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, so they must help each other in developing positive things as long as they do not conflict with existing regulations. Regarding tourism promotion, Deputy Governor Cok Ace said that Bali has an international event, namely the Bali and Beyond Travel Fair which is an event to promote tourism throughout the archipelago. "Berau Regency can take advantage of this, to attract buyers who come to the event," said Deputy Governor Cok Ace. Deputy Governor Cok Ace hopes that this collaboration can be well established and have a positive impact on the tourism of the two regions, both Bali and Berau.
