The District Government of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara is currently developing an integrated agricultural sector with animal husbandry to increase the economic growth of the community. "The program was developed in three sub-districts namely Pray District, Central Praya District and West Praya District," said Head of the Central Lombok District Agriculture Service, Taufikurahman in Praya, Monday. Residents in the three sub-districts will plant corn that is integrated with animal husbandry, which means that the corn planted is not for sale, but is processed by the community to become chicken feed. "The three sub-districts that will become pilot locations for integrated agriculture with animal husbandry," he said. He said this was also in line with the central government's plan to standardize farming so that it could improve people's welfare. It's just that this integrated sector is still farming corn and free-range chicken. "We have entered into an MOU with the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture as a form of the local government's willingness to continue this integrated agricultural program for the next five years from 2022-2007," he said.
He said these three sub-districts were considered to have potential for food security in terms of integration between corn farming and animal husbandry. So there are also several areas in Indonesia apart from Central Lombok, there are those that represent the oil palm ecosystem. Then, there are those who represent horticulture and Central Lombok in the Province of NTB in terms of corn and chicken. "Integrated agriculture is supported by the World Bank and farmers in these three sub-districts, some of whom have been selected as pilot projects for the development of corn plants which are then processed into chicken feed," he said. Agricultural Instruments to make agriculture competitive. Especially so far from the agricultural side in Central Lombok there is no standard. "So all this time we have produced nothing without standards. It is through this integrated farming that there are then standards for our agriculture," he said.
