To Support Organic Bells, Polbangtan Ministry of Agriculture Presents Successful Organic Farmers

Currently, the Agricultural Resources Extension and Development Agency (BPPSDMP) is actively promoting the Ministry of Agriculture's new program, namely the Pro Organic Farmers Movement (GENTA ORGANIK). Organic farming is an agricultural cultivation technique that relies on natural ingredients without the use of synthetic chemicals. The main objective of organic farming is to provide agricultural products, especially food ingredients that are safe for the health of producers and consumers and do not damage the environment. The Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), Syahrul Yasin Limpo said, maintaining soil and its fertility is an obligation for farmers to increase productivity. The Head of the Agricultural Human Resources Extension and Development Agency (BPPSDMP), Dedi Nursyamsi said that Organic Genta is a pro-organic agricultural movement which includes the use of organic fertilizers, biological fertilizers, soil conditioners as a solution to the problem of expensive fertilizers," said Dedi.

According to Dedi, Genta Organik encourages farmers to produce organic fertilizers, biological fertilizers and soil repairers independently. "So, Genta Organic doesn't mean that chemical fertilizers are forbidden," said Dedi. Not wanting to be left behind, the Agricultural Development Polytechnic (Polbangtan) Bogor also participated in echoing the ORGANIC CELL program by holding a Millennial Agriculture Forum which was packaged into a talk show themed Success in Organic Farming last Saturday (03/12). This time, MAF presents a millennial farmer from Subang, West Java, who has succeeded in selling processed organic rice and organic rice flour, namely Dedi Mulyadi, owner of the Pringkasap brand organic rice. Dedi said that it would take him approximately 2 years to be able to produce the current processed product. "This principle is the result of harvesting rice that is processed organically in the planting process. We focus on organic rice because in terms of quality, organic rice is superior to ordinary rice," he said. Dedi said he prefers to process organically, to protect nature Because by using organic fertilizer, it will save the ecosystem and environment in the future.Dedi admits that he has no difficulty in finding market share, because currently organic rice is still not widely found, and Dedi feels that market segmentation is automatically formed because only people who really cares about health and the environment who will look for organic products. Apart from Dedi, Polbangtan Bogor also brought in Imam Hanafi, an Agricultural Extension Officer under the Bogor City Agriculture and Food Security Service. In fact, Imam became one of the initiators of the establishment of Organic Agro Edu Tourism (AEWO) in the Mulyaharja area According to Imam, farmers who are committed to organic farming. Because farmers in Indonesia have been using chemical fertilizers for generations. When switching to using organic fertilizers, production will usually decrease and take 1 to 2 years. “However, the sacrifice paid off. From the hard work of the farmers who were quite persistent, we finally managed to farm organically and we even won the Thematic Village held by the Mayor of Bogor to become the Mulyaharja Organic AgroEdu Tourism,” he said.
