Ministry of Trade Expects Exports of Mamin in the Middle East and North Africa to Increase

The Ministry of Trade (Ministry of Trade) participated in the 7th Food Africa global scale trade exhibition which was held on 5-8 December 2022 at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center, Cairo, Egypt. The Director General of National Export Development (PEN) Didi Sumedi said that Indonesia's participation in Food Africa 2022 was a real commitment by the Ministry of Trade to expand its export market share to non-traditional countries. Didi also said that the participation of Indonesian companies was expected to increase exports of Indonesian processed food to Egypt. In the January period? September 2022, the export value of Indonesian processed food to Egypt has recorded transactions of USD 16.46 million. Meanwhile in 2021, exports of these commodities were recorded at USD 25.82 million. "Indonesia's participation in Food Africa 2022 is also targeted to be able to penetrate other export markets in the Middle East and Africa," Didi said in his statement Tuesday (6/12). For the Middle East region, the export value of Indonesian processed food in the January-September 2022 period is USD 244.75 million and in 2021 it will reach USD 275.23 million.


"As for the African market, the export value in the January-September 2022 period was USD 129.01 million and throughout 2021 it was recorded at USD 158.81 million," Didi added. It should be noted that in this activity the Ministry of Trade through the Directorate General of National Export Development (PEN) in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo facilitated nine Indonesian business actors to exhibit and promote their products to potential buyers in accredited countries. The Indonesian Pavilion, which carries the Red and White theme, displays spices and seasoning products, coffee, processed foods, packaged beverages, and processed palm oil. Meanwhile, Indonesian companies participating in the exhibition were PT Selaras Rasakoe Indonesia for spices and seasoning products; PT Mandala Prima Makmur/Prospero Food (chocolate and coffee); AK Goldenesia (CPO and its derivatives); PT Sumber Kopi Prima (Caffino instant coffee); PT Alam Scientia Asia (seasoning & condiments). Nusako -PT Jagad Kelapa Nusantara (coconut water drink); PT Chita Agri Indonesia (coffee, moringa and corn); PT International Niaga Globalindo (chocolate and coffee); and PT Ikafood Putramas (seasoning).
