The Malang Regency Government program, One Village One Destination or one village for one destination is considered capable of increasing the potential of the tourism sector in Malang Regency, East Java. Malang Regent M Sanusi in Malang Regency said Monday that the One Village One Destination program aims to raise the potential of villages in Malang Regency as tourist destinations. "In line with the Malang Regency program, One Village One Destination raises the potential of villages. Malang already has 22 tourist villages," Sanusi said at the DPRD Special Plenary Meeting in commemoration of the 1,262nd anniversary of Malang Regency. Sanusi explained, of the 22 tourist villages in the Malang Regency area, they had succeeded in making achievements. One of them is the Pujon Kidul Tourism Village which received the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) for the Inspirational Independent Village Category. Meanwhile, he continued, Sanankerto Village won third place in the Tourism Attraction Village Category, and received appreciation from international forums, for its participation in the 5th ASEAN Rural Development and Poverty Eradication Awards in 2022. this year can raise the potential of tourism in Malang Regency so that it can continue to grow and develop," he said.
He added, related to the tourism sector, it cannot be separated from infrastructure development in the Malang Regency area. The development of good facilities and infrastructure will support increased regional competitiveness, including the tourism sector. The Malang Regency area has quite promising tourism potential. Several tourist destinations in the region include the Pujon Kidul Tourism Village, including a range of beaches in the southern region of Malang.
