Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi said, in 2020 or during a pandemic, Surabaya's economy was -4.85%, in 2021 it rose to 4.29% and this year it rose again to 7.17%. "Thank God, until this month Surabaya's economic growth has reached 7.17%, which means it is higher than East Java and the National economic growth which is at more than 5%," Eri told reporters in his office, Sunday (27/11/2022). Eri ensured that the economic growth which reached 7 percent was on target with the Surabaya City Government. Although initially had doubts, it turns out that economic growth can reach the target. "Thank God it was achieved according to our target. Even though yesterday we had doubts, did we not get to number 7? And thank God it was achieved, and the highest is still from the service sector, because Surabaya is indeed a service city, right," he said. He is also grateful, because the open unemployment rate has also fallen from 9.68% in 2021 to 7.62% until November 2022 or decreased by around 2%.
With the increase in the economy and the decline in the unemployment rate in Surabaya, there is a synergy between all parties.
