The highlight of the Sail Tidore 2022 event is proving the independence and economic resilience of Eastern Indonesia. The peak celebration of the Sail Tidore event which was so lively was successfully carried out despite the challenging economic situation. Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan explained, the series of programs and activities of Sail Tidore 2022 have raised the potential for tourism, art, culture, superior products and investment from both Tidore and throughout Indonesia. Especially for Tidore, it is hoped that the enchantment of the wealth of the main clove-producing island in Indonesia is expected to give it even more appeal. "With the various activities that we have reported, Sail Tidore 2022 is one of the efforts to keep the economy in this eastern part of Indonesia stable," said Zulhas in Tidore, Saturday (26/11/2022).
Referring to BPS data for the second quarter of 2022, the highest economic growth in Indonesia is currently recorded in the Eastern Region of Indonesia. With economic growth at 27.74% (yoy), North Maluku's economic growth far outperformed Papua's at 14.38%. One of the drivers of economic growth in North Maluku is the accelerated growth of the manufacturing, transportation and warehousing to mining and quarrying industries. The Peak Sail Tidore event was attended by around 1,100 invitees, including heads of institutions and a number of ambassadors from friendly countries. The people were so enthusiastic to come to Tidore and filled the event location. Zulhas stated that the grand event at the center of this world heritage destination is expected to further support the promotion of regional economic potential, promote tourism potential, superior products, and world investment to Tidore.
"We celebrate Gempita Sail Tidore 2022 to accelerate economic development and promote Tidore's potential to world investors and tourists." Zulhas said. The same thing was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Luhut said North Maluku's high economic growth was proof of Indonesia's economic resilience. "We are proud of all of this. If we are one, united, not divided, we will move forward. If we clash, this will not happen," said Luhut. Luhut also asked the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Trade and the local government to continue to maximize Tidore's potential after the implementation of Sail Tidore 2022. "In particular, I would like to ask the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Trade and the local government to optimize the utilization of Tidore's tourism potential in the future. There are lots of hidden treasures here, but we must manage them wisely," said Luhut.
Tidore is a historic city with an extraordinary story of struggle. Mayor of Tidore Islands Ali Ibrahim conveyed the importance of Tidore as an international trading point since 500 years ago. To continue to build Tidore and restore its past glories, Ali also said that further efforts should be made to continue to develop Tidore after Sail Tidore 2022. "Five hundred years ago, Tidore became an important point in international trade relations. Tidore also plays a role in global geostrategic and geopolitical constellations. We hope The attention of the Central Government does not stop at Sail Tidore 2022, we are proposing further efforts to build the economy and realize the aspirations of people's welfare," said Ali. A number of programs have been carried out to support the Sail Tidore 2022 event including infrastructure improvements, community empowerment in the tourism industry, counseling and assistance to small industries, product exhibitions and promotions, business forums, health services, and improvement of tree vegetation so that access and the environment become better. Various attractions, competitions and art performances are also held to promote local potential. The top event of Sail Tidore also featured the synchronization of the sea attractions of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) Navy, Air Force, National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), and traditional fishermen. Various dances by students and local Tidore talents were also shown. The event continued with symbolic planting of mangroves and viewing of the Sail Tidore Expo with 90 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) participating. The implementation of Sail Tidore 2022 is the result of the cooperation of all stakeholders. A total of 32 ministries and agencies assisted by a number of BUMNs, business actors and other stakeholders work together to orchestrate the realization of Sail Tidore 2022.
