The government of East Barito Regency (Bartim), Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) through the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports (Disbudparpora) continues to strive to improve the quality and capacity of Human Resources (HR) for tourism entrepreneurs and creative economy actors. "One of the things we do is through training to increase the capacity of tourism resources and the creative economy at the basic level," said Head of the East Barito Tourism and Tourism Office, Herawani in Tamiang Layang, Tuesday. Through this training, tourism businesses, tour managers and Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) as well as creative economy actors who are participants are increasingly able to develop businesses according to existing standards. "We also use this training to facilitate the development of tourist villages by setting standards for destinations, management and human resources," he said. The 50 participants can be reapplied to many other potential villages so as to improve environmental quality, community welfare, and the preservation of community culture in tourist villages.
According to him, the development of tourism villages in the future will be able to provide economic benefits. For example, by increasing income, creating employment opportunities, increasing community skills, improving infrastructure and improving environmental management. Herawani also invited tourism managers and Pokdarwis to build connections, communication, coordination, synergy, collaboration and strategies, in order to build the tourism sector in their respective regions. Currently, many tourist destinations in East Barito Regency are used as tourist destinations for the community, such as the Kedong Air waterfall, the Betang House which is a traditional Dayak house, the Lewu Hante Museum, Liang Saragi Cave and the Bahalang Mountains. "For this reason, in order to further inflame and expand marketing reach, there must be a systematic, planned, integrated and sustainable development program while still providing protection for artistic values, customs, culture and religion that live in a multicultural society," he said.
