After Leeches, Mangrove Crabs from Bengkulu are Exported to Singapore

Some commodities are currently being exported, such as leeches some time ago. This time, through Customs and Excise together with the Quarantine Agency for Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products, Bengkulu Province, they exported Mud Crab. Head of the Internal Compliance and Customs Counseling Section for Bengkulu Province, Agus Praminto, said that the release of the first export of mud crabs was carried out in early November."Actually, this is the second time, but the first failed yesterday. But the second time, it has been successful," he said. For the purpose of exporting these mud crabs, they are sent to Singapore. The demand for mangrove crabs is quite large. "The order is quite large, weighing up to 20 KG more than the first request from Singapore," he added Sunday (20/11). Agus said, the realization of the export of mangrove crabs is already running. His party ensures that it will deliver the number of exports by the end of this year. "There is already a realization, maybe later we will convey it in December. Because this is just the beginning," he continued.

Meanwhile, one of the Mud Crab business actors, Endang Mansur, said. Mud crab commodity is obtained from the port of Bengkulu. "Of course I continue to ask for support so that the government and agencies support the business, especially since this export activity can continue," he said. Agus hopes that with this new export commodity, of course it can continue to drive the economy of the business sector in marine waters. "We hope that later, all marine commodities can be exported so that they can drive the economy in Bengkulu. Because the potential for fish production here is very large," he said.
