The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) ensures the provision of incentives for companies that implement the concept of the Sustainable Investment Guidelines. This was conveyed by the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia while attending the G20 Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali, Wednesday (16/11/2022). Bahlil said incentives would be given to companies that implement the Sustainable Investment Guidelines. However, said Bahlil, incentives will be given to investors or entrepreneurs who provide welfare for the local community. "Surely we will provide appropriate incentives. As long as they really have a contribution to state revenue, and collaborate with local entrepreneurs and pay attention to local communities," said Bahlil. Bahlil emphasized that this guideline was prepared to be used by parties such as business actors, investors, including the government as policy makers. The main scope of this Sustainable Investment Guide is the concept of sustainable investment, investment framework, sustainable indicators, and procedures for using sustainable investment guidelines. "The purpose of this guide is to encourage sustainable business growth, both through transformation and new initiatives," said Bahlil. Previously it was reported, the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia launched the Sustainable Investment Guidelines (SIG)/Sustainable Investment Guidelines, which are the commitment of the Indonesian Government to a green economy. He said, the Sustainable Investment Guide is considered capable of protecting the environment and even guaranteeing people's welfare. Furthermore, said Bahlil, the Sustainable Investment Guide will later be used as the main rule for incoming investment activities from foreign investors. The preparation of the Sustainable Investment Guide is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Investment/BKPM and the Earthly Economic Coalition, KADIN, APINDO, representatives from community organizations, academics, investors, financial institutions, and MSME players.
