The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the value of coal exports reaching USD 4.42 billion in October 2022, up 37.13% (year on year) from October 2021 of USD 3.21 billion. Quoting BPS data received by the coil, total coal exports in the January-October 2022 period reached 38.86 billion. The destination countries for the largest coal exports are India, China, Japan, the Philippines and South Korea. "In October 2022, India is the largest export country for Indonesian coal, reaching USD 844.48 million," said the Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at the BPS Agency, Setianto, when met at the BPS Building, Tuesday (15/11). Then the second destination countries for coal exports were China worth USD 816.32 million and Japan amounted to USD 746.56 million. Coal exports to India increased by 93.31% (yoy) from October 2021 of USD 436.85 million. Meanwhile, other countries that imported coal from Indonesia were the Philippines and South Korea, amounting to USD 434.49 million and USD 252.89 million, respectively. "Coal and crude oil prices are still showing increases, both on a monthly and annual basis," he said. In the presentation material, the commodity price of coal increased 63% from USD 199.7 per metric ton in October 2021 to USD 326.6 per metric ton in October 2022. Setianto revealed that non-oil and gas exports in October 2022 reached USD 23.43 billion, down 0.14% compared to September 2022. If viewed on a monthly basis, exports rose 11.45% compared to non-oil and gas exports in October 2021.
