LPEI Creates Exporters of False Eyelashes, Penetrate European and US Markets

PT Diva Prima Cemerlang, a company founded by Dewi Ekha Harlasyanti, has succeeded in bringing fake eyelashes made in Indonesia to penetrate the European and United States (US) markets. Dewi is an entrepreneur who has participated in the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank mentoring program which has succeeded in going global. As a special mission vehicle for the Ministry of Finance, LPEI continues to provide education and assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) exporting goods to upgrade their class and go global. Dewi started her business in 2015 by establishing Diva Prima Cemerlang, where she has served as CEO until now. Starting from the saturation of being an employee for 20 years with an uncertain future, Dewi decided to quit her job and took the initiative to start her own business. He saw a business opportunity in his old residence, Purbalingga, which is a center for the production of false eyelashes throughout Indonesia and around the world. "So, false eyelashes made from people's hair must be from Indonesia. In the world, only Purbalingga can make false eyelashes. This is why I chose to become an exporter of false eyelashes, because Indonesia is a supplier of false eyelashes all over the world, making it easier to bargain with buyers," explained Dewi in an official statement, Tuesday (15/11/2022).

From the start, Dewi has been determined to be export-oriented. Not long after starting the business, Dewi's fake eyelash products were immediately attracted by buyers from other countries, namely France, which eventually became the first export destination. Now, Dewi has exported to 16 countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Turkey, France and the US as the biggest market for false eyelash products. Apart from being a hero for the country's foreign exchange through exports, this law graduate woman is also a hero for the local community through community empowerment in the production process. Dewi said the total number of people empowered was around 500-700 people, the majority of whom were housewives. As an entrepreneur who always wants to move up a class so that he can go global, Dewi introduced his products to LPEI through Desa Sejahtera Astra. The assistance provided by LPEI to Dewi has opened market access, expanded business networks, and helped promote Dewi's false eyelash products to world-class buyers and designers. Dewi's hope in the future is to continue to exist in the global market, especially the American and European markets. "I was given many opportunities by LPEI to show off my product. That for me is something extraordinary, because from there people can get to know our products," said Dewi. In an effort to realize the dreams of other export heroines going global, LPEI will continue to carry out community development through the Foreign Exchange Village as a manifestation of LPEI's role in encouraging MSME players to export in a sustainable manner.
