The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's exports in October 2022 grew 12.30% (year on year/yoy) to USD 24.81 billion. Compared to the previous month there was an increase of 0.13%. "Indonesian exports in October 2022 reached USD 24.81 billion," said BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics (Disjas), Setianto in a press conference, Tuesday (11/15/2022). Commodity prices on a monthly basis show varied prices. Coal is still rising both on a monthly and annual basis. While nickel and natural gas fell monthly, they were still higher compared to last year. The rupiah exchange rate is weaker than before. The United States (US) dollar is now perched at IDR 15,600. The market consensus compiled by CNBC Indonesia from 13 institutions estimates a trade balance surplus in October of USD 4.50 billion. The surplus was much lower than September 2022 which reached USD 4.99 billion. The consensus also shows that exports will grow 11.74% (year on year/yoy) while imports will increase 23.62%.
