KIT Batang is dominated by Foreign Investors, Says The Head of the Pemalang Immigration Office

Foreign investors or investors dominate investment in the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KIT). Of course, there will be many foreigners who will do business in Central Java, especially in the former Pekalongan residency. Head of the Immigration Office Class I non TPI Pemalang, Arvin Gumilang wants the former Pekalongan Residency area to become a second home for Foreign Citizens (WNA). Especially for business foreigners investing in their working areas. This is reinforced by the Director General of Immigration's policy to open Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) services to the public and the Second Home Visa policy. This policy specifically provides facilities for foreigners from the upper middle class. "Be it premium class foreign tourists, global talent or world elite businessmen, they can immediately stay long in Indonesia, for 5 or 10 years," said Arvin, Monday, November 14, 2022 when contacted by telephone. He hopes that the second home visa is expected to be an investment that can help the Indonesian economy and especially in its working area. Through his press release, Acting Director of Immigration, Widodo Ekatjahjana explained that the policy could contribute to accelerating Indonesia's economic growth.

He said that the Second Home Visa is not a substitute for the Foreign Elderly Tourist Visa. The Elderly Tourist Visa Article 39 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation has been removed and is no longer valid. "Both have different legal and political backgrounds and stand alone," he explained. Holders of an International Elderly Tourist Visa whose validity period is about to expire can apply for other types of visas or other residence permits, including a Second Home Visa. The requirements for the Second Home Visa are to meet the proof of fund requirements of IDR 2 billion or to attach a certificate of ownership of luxury properties. "The goal is for the immigration guarantee fund to circulate within the country," he said.Widodo said there were two immigration policies to stimulate the acceleration of the economy and create new jobs. In addition to the Second Home Visa, there is also an Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) service for the public. Then, to coincide with the G20, Immigration also confirmed Parq Space Bali as a pilot project for the immigration service product program. As well as an ambassador for immigration services for global businessmen, world billionaires, bona fide foreign tourists and foreign investors, especially from Europe. Meanwhile, CEO of Parq Space Development, Andre Frey, welcomed the e-VOA and Second Home Visa immigration services program for global businesses initiated by Immigration. "This is a good initiative to protect Indonesia from labor problems that can arise from the aspect of foreigners who want to stay long in Indonesia," he said.
