The B20 Investment Forum attracts investment opportunities with 18 companies from 11 countries. This investment commitment was marked by the signing of a cooperation memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth IDR 75 trillion. "B20 Indonesia ensures that the presidency held this year can have an impact on increasing domestic investment, especially for strategic projects that are correlated with major themes and G20 priorities, namely improving the health system, accelerating the green energy transition, to increasing digitalization," said the Chairman of KADIN. Indonesia Arsjad Rasjid, Saturday (12/11/2022).
Arsjad explained that the investment opportunities explored by KADIN Indonesia were carried out in a series of B20 roadshows to various countries throughout 2022, including the United States (US), Canada, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, China, Singapore, Turkey, Korea, Japan, Australia, India, as well as France. "Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the organizer of the B20 is also trying to increase bilateral cooperation between countries in the Business Matchmaking Meeting (B2B)," he said. In addition, the B20 Investment Forum also seeks to accelerate the increase in trade and investment cooperation through 6 important business sector clusters, namely:
a. Cluster 1: Digital and startups; finance and insurance, infrastructure and construction, and transportation and logistics
b. Cluster 2: Manufacturing and industry 4.0; sustainable energy; textiles and fashion
c. Cluster 3: Agriculture and blue economy
d. Cluster 4: Mining industry and heavy industry
e. Cluster 5: Furniture and household, and tourism and hospitality
f. Cluster 6: Health
Arsjad said that the number of countries investing in Indonesia could not be separated from the role of the government, which was assisted by the private sector, to continue to carry out bureaucratic and structural reforms. "Currently, the concern of business actors and investors is regulations that provide convenience. Through the Job Creation Act, the government encourages investors to invest in sectors that support the energy transition and reduce carbon emissions as well as regulations that can guarantee incentives and convenience for industry, "explained Arshad.
