The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) seeks to encourage startups in Indonesia to be more professional. To that end, Kominfo has conducted pitch training to improve presentation skills and pitch decks to increase the business scale of the 2022 HUB.ID Accelerator participants. Director of Digital Economy, Directorate General of Information and Communication Technology Applications, I Nyoman Adhiarna, explained that the HUB.ID Accelerator is a program that is run to help increase access to funding, business cooperation, and other types of partnerships for digital startups in Indonesia "We want the HUB.ID program to be a stepping stone for local startups to upgrade to become more professional startups," said Nyoman in a written statement, Tuesday (8/11). Nyoman said that his party also held a networking session for selected local startups in order to expand the market. This is because startups can convey information related to their products and business in front of representatives of private corporations in the region, academics, industry players, and local governments in six cities, namely Balikpapan, Surabaya, Denpasar, Makassar, Medan, and Bandung from October to November.
"Through a series of programs that have previously been carried out, startup actors have honed their soft skills and increased their capacity by getting assistance from experienced expert mentors," said Nyoman. Of the total 200 startups that have registered, Kominfo has selected 24 startups to participate in the 2022 HUB.ID Accelerator program, including Verihubs, PasarMIKRO, Kecilin, Nodeflux, Eratani, Ayo Kenalin, Quipster, Avter, ProSehat, Yippy, Jasa Connect, Amtiss, Prospero, Grouu, Rakamin Academy, Jwalaku, Tumbasin, Djoin, MallSampah, Looyal, MileApp, Prieds, Amoda, and Finku. Nyoman hopes that the efforts made by the Ministry of Communication and Information will enable the startups selected in the HUB.ID Accelerator 2022 to improve their performance. "Hopefully, through this networking session, we can further support local startups and provide a platform for them to be able to disseminate information related to their business and establish relationships with the stakeholders they want," said Nyoman.
