Until now, the tapis cloth industry is one of the drivers of economic development in Pringsewu Regency and the tapis cloth craftsmen who are currently developing in Pringsewu have an important contribution to the acquisition of Regional Original Income. This was said by the Acting Regent of Pringsewu, Adi Eransyah when opening the Product Quality Improvement and Digital Marketing Training which was attended by 20 tapis cloth craftsmen from Pringsewu, Pardasuka, and Pagelaran Subdistricts at Mahan Tapis Margakaya, Pringsewu, Wednesday (11/02/22). Adi said that the tapis cloth industry is also able to absorb labor, and even now efforts are being made to develop tourism potential by making Lugusari Village, Pagelaran District, Pringsewu Regency as one of the Tapis Village Tourism Villages in Lampung Province, through Lampung Governor Decree No. G/319/V.26/HK/D.13/2022 dated May 18th, 2022. "Therefore, we should be proud because Pringsewu is one of the districts that has been designated as a Craft Industry Center as well as a Tapis Village Tourism Village in Lampung Province," he said.

To support the development of the Craft Industry Center and the Tapis Village Tourism Village, said the Acting Regent, at the activity which was attended by the Chairperson of the Pringsewu Regency Dekranasda Rusdiana Adi Erlansyah, DWP Chair Sri Prihatin Heri Iswahyudi, Assistant for the Economy and Development of Masykur along with several heads of related regional apparatus, with resource person Nola Marta, it takes innovation and creation of tapis cloth products and their derivatives from tapis cloth artisans, to support existing tourist attractions. This training, according to Adi Erlansyah, focuses more on developing tapis cloth design to bring out the characteristics of tapis cloth motifs for Pringsewu Regency and preparation for tapis cloth craftsmen to enter the global market using digital technology. "For that, I hope that this training can improve the skills of Small and Medium Industry business actors, especially in the tapis cloth craft sector, so that they can continue to explore the potential that exists within themselves to produce quality products, and by market demand so that crafters can take advantage of technology as a means of supporting to market the tapis cloth products they produce,” he hoped.
